Expert Review
Working at Goodwill as a Store Clerk/Cashier can be a fulfilling experience, especially for those who appreciate the nonprofit sector. The pay range of $14 to $21 per hour is quite competitive for entry-level positions. This role allows employees to gain practical retail experience while directly impacting their community.
Candidates should note that the job involves various responsibilities, including operating the cash register, stocking shelves, and assisting customers. This can make for a busy workday, requiring adaptability and strong interpersonal skills. The part-time nature of the job may limit hours, for those seeking full-time employment.
Goodwill's commitment to community service adds a unique aspect to the work environment. Employees often find purpose in their roles, knowing that their work supports job training and employment services. However, the challenges of dealing with customer inquiries and the retail workload can be demanding at times.
