The $17 per hour pay is competitive for an entry-level security position, especially with benefits like paid training. However, the requirement for weekend shifts may deter some job seekers.
About this role
Join Signal of Kansas City as a Security Guard, requiring weekend availability and a valid driver's license. Pay is $17/hour with flexible shifts.
Expert Review
The role of a Security Guard with Signal in Kansas City presents a solid entry point for those interested in the security industry. With a pay rate of $17 per hour, it competes well in the local market. Applicants should note the emphasis on weekend availability, which can limit flexibility for some candidates.
The job involves foot patrols, primarily within Walmart stores, requiring a valid driver's license and a clean driving record due to driving responsibilities. This role about standing still; expect to be on your feet for much of the shift. Candidates must be ready to obtain their security license within 10 days of hire, adding pressure to new hires.
In terms of benefits, the company offers paid training and positions itself as supportive of veterans and first responders, which can be appealing to many job seekers. The opportunity for career advancement is a significant plus, allowing for growth within the security field. However, potential applicants should weigh the physical demands and weekend schedules against their personal commitments.
Overall, this position is best suited for individuals who can commit to its requirements and are looking for a stable job with room for growth. Those not interested in weekend work or physically demanding roles might want to explore other options.
