The flexibility of Instacart's delivery driver position is a major advantage, making it suitable for students or those with other commitments. However, the income can vary significantly based on demand and hours worked.
About this role
Become an Instacart Delivery Driver to shop for groceries and deliver them to customers. Enjoy flexible hours and competitive pay between $15 – $22 per hour.
What Customers Say
Drivers appreciate the flexibility but often mention the unpredictability of earnings and the challenges of customer interactions.
Expert Review
This position offers significant flexibility, allowing drivers to choose their own hours. The pay range of $15 – $22 per hour is appealing, but actual earnings can vary based on location and demand. Drivers must use their personal vehicles, which could lead to increased wear and tear.
Instacart's app facilitates order management, but effective communication with customers is crucial, particularly when substitutions are needed. Some drivers report challenges in this area, which can impact the delivery experience.
While the role is perfect for those needing part-time work or a side gig, it may not suit individuals looking for a stable income. The gig economy's unpredictable nature means that drivers should be prepared for busy and slow periods alike. Check out more details on Instacart's offerings on their official page here.
