What Customers Say
Workers appreciate the flexibility, though many report variable earnings and the challenges of self-employment.
Expert Review
becoming a Dasher, flexibility is the primary draw. You can work whenever it suits you, making it great for students or anyone needing variable hours. DoorDash's user-friendly app allows for easy scheduling and tracking of deliveries.
Earnings can vary widely depending on location and time of day. During busy lunch or dinner hours, Dashers often see higher pay, but slower periods may yield less. This pay structure can be challenging if you're relying on a consistent income.
while the role is marketed for anyone, it’s not ideal for those seeking traditional employment benefits, as Dashers are classified as independent contractors. This means no sick leave, holiday pay, or insurance is provided. According to DoorDash's site, earnings can average around $25 per hour during peak times, but this can drop significantly during quieter hours.
DoorDash offers a flexible work opportunity that can be lucrative during busy times but may not provide the stability and benefits of traditional employment. Review your financial needs carefully before committing to this role.
