About the Role Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial automation equipment, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Field Service Engineer to provide expert on-site technical support and maintenance services to their customers in and around Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our client's complex electrical and automated systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical equipment, control systems, and machinery.
This position requires significant travel within the Northern Cape region and occasionally beyond, involving direct client interaction and problem resolution. You will be the face of our client's technical expertise in the field. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical issues on industrial machinery and automated systems at client sites.
Perform preventative maintenance and service on electrical equipment, control panels, and PLCs. Install, commission, and configure new electrical systems and upgrades. Provide on-site technical support and training to customer personnel.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals. Respond promptly to service calls and ensure timely resolution of customer issues. Maintain detailed service reports and documentation.
Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs. Requirements Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or installation of industrial electrical systems and automation equipment.
Strong expertise in troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial control systems. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the Northern Cape.
