What Customers Say
Drivers generally appreciate the flexibility but often express concerns over inconsistent earnings and long wait times.
Expert Review
Many find DoorDash appealing due to its flexible hours, allowing drivers to choose when they work. This is for those balancing other jobs or responsibilities. However, income can vary significantly based on demand and time of day, which can lead to unpredictable earnings.
User feedback highlights that while delivering during peak hours may yield better tips, drivers also face challenges such as long wait times at restaurants and a lack of guaranteed pay per delivery. The company does not provide a base salary, which means earnings rely heavily on tips and delivery frequency.
In our analysis, we noted that drivers often spend considerable time waiting for orders, which can reduce effective hourly earnings. While the onboarding process is designed to be new drivers should manage expectations regarding the stability of their income.
