Workers appreciate the stability and importance of their roles but often mention the demanding physical nature of the job.
Expert Review
Eskom's General Worker position offers a chance to work directly in the electricity distribution sector. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the electrical networks that power South Africa. The hands-on nature of the job means that candidates must be ready for physical tasks, which can be demanding.
While the opportunity provides job security and a stable working environment, it may not lead to significant career advancement. Many employees find themselves in similar roles for extended periods, so it’s important to consider personal career goals before applying.
According to Eskom's official page, candidates will engage in crucial maintenance activities, which can be rewarding but also challenging. If you're passionate about contributing to the country’s infrastructure, this role could be fulfilling. However, potential applicants should assess their readiness for the physicality and responsibility involved.
