Expert Review
The Security Guard position at Allied Universal in St. Louis offers a full-time role that caters to those entering the security field. With responsibilities spanning various sectors like retail, healthcare, and education, employees can expect a dynamic work environment.
While this role provides valuable experience, it is essential to recognize the limitations in career advancement for those already seasoned in security. Entry-level pay rates do not significantly exceed industry standards, for some.
Training programs are beneficial for newcomers, ensuring that staff are well-equipped to handle various scenarios. However, the nature of retail security can lead to high-stress situations, such as managing theft or crowd control. According to Allied Universal's page, ongoing training is part of the job, which can help ease some of these pressures.
Overall, this position is a great fit for individuals looking to build a career in security but may not meet the expectations of experienced guards seeking more responsibility or compensation. The opportunity to work in a respected company like Allied Universal can nonetheless provide valuable experience and skills.
