The role offers a solid opportunity for those passionate about coffee, especially in a busy setting. However, the pay may not be competitive enough for highly skilled baristas seeking higher wages.
About this role
Join a busy coffee shop as an experienced Barista, crafting drinks and providing exceptional customer service.
What Customers Say
Workers appreciate the friendly atmosphere but express concerns about the pay and pressure during busy shifts.
Expert Review
For experienced baristas, this role at Nu Food Cafe in Durban offers a dynamic atmosphere to hone your coffee-making skills. The R30.23 per hour wage is fairly standard for the industry but may not reflect the expertise of seasoned professionals. Weekend shifts are required, making it suitable for those who can manage a flexible schedule.
The position emphasizes customer service, which is crucial in crafting a welcoming experience for patrons. Engaging with customers while preparing drinks can be rewarding, but it also comes with the pressure of maintaining quality in a busy setting. Unlike other cafes that may offer higher salaries or benefits, this role may appeal more to those prioritizing work experience over pay.
Potential applicants should consider the demands of the job, especially if aiming for career progression. While this role is perfect for building skills, those seeking to advance quickly might find limited opportunities within the cafe. Interested candidates can apply through their official page at Gumtree.
